If something doesn't seem quite right on your computer, or if a program freezes up, most computer help desks will ask you to restart your computer and see if it fixes the problem. Likewise, you may need to reset your PDA from time to time to resolve any lock ups or other issues.
Before you reset your PDA, however, it's important to understand the difference between a soft reset and a hard reset.
A soft reset will reboot the PDA, leaving all of your data, programs, and other files intact.
A hard reset will restore your PDA to factory conditions, just as it was when you first bought it. As a result of a hard reset, you will lose any programs you have installed, and all documents and settings will be erased.
